This is not easy and we are continuously monitoring and modifying the system; whilst doing our best to provide equitable access for all our patients within the finances and staff at our disposal in the current climate of austerity in the NHS. Online Services – Repeat Prescriptions, Booking An Appointment & View Your Medical Record

The Langton Medical Group now offer an online facility for you to book appointments, request your repeat prescription and access your medical record. Please note that you will need to visit the Practice in the first instance to request your PIN Letter from Reception. Once you have this information, you can click here to access these services. Patient Health Records

The Langton Medical Group uses a sophisticated computer system which enables the maintenance of very good records. Prescriptions are issued on the computer and patient registration details, clinical records and important medical information and measurements are recorded on the system. Registers of all those who have longer term illness are kept allowing progress to be monitored, medication to be regularly checked and review of patients at regular intervals. The computer is also widely used for recording and monitoring health screening checks such as cervical screening tests. Non-NHS Examinations

Medical examinations for special purposes e.g. elderly drivers, pre-employment, insurance medicals etc can be arranged by appointment. A fee as recommended by the British Medical Association will be payable for these examinations. Occasionally patients ask their doctor to do tasks which are not NHS services. For example, completion of insurance claim forms; holiday cancellation forms; or letters to non-NHS agencies all attract a fee payable by the patient. A list of such services and current charges is available at reception.

Travel Immunisation

A full travel immunisation and advice service is provided by The Langton Medical Group. Please complete the attached form and return it to the surgery at least 2 weeks prior to travel. Telephone the surgery after 11am on 01543 440819 to find out what vaccinations are required, please allow the allocated 2 weeks before telephoning the surgery. A receptionist can then arrange an appointment with one of our specialist nurses who will administer the recommended vaccinations and discuss malaria cover if required. The Langton Medical Group is a registered Yellow Fever immunisation centre. Patients Over 75

An annual check up with your doctor, especially if you have not needed to see a doctor recently, is recommended. Obviously, if you are seeing your doctor on a regular basis, this will not be necessary. If you should become ill, an excellent healthcare team will assist your doctor in caring for you at home. Even if you should need hospital care, in many cases this same team can usually continue to look after you in the local community hospital. Practice doctors also visit a number of local Nursing Homes.

Cervical Screening Tests

The Langton Medical Group offer cervical screening tests according to the national cervical screening program. At present, all women over the age of 25 years will be offered a screening test every three years until the age of 50 at which point testing is offered five yearly, as long as previous results have been negative. All women patients are encouraged to take advantage of this service. Test results are posted to patients from the laboratory as soon as they are available.
